Parkway Lakes Subdivision

Dear Sagefield Residents,
NOTE: This message is for those Sagefield Residents who received a Public Hearing Notice from the City-Parish Planning Commission and live on the Northside of Old Hermitage Pkwy in Sagefield Subdivision.
As members of the Sagefield community, we understand the importance of staying informed and ensuring the safety and well-being of our neighborhood. Several large projects may soon take place behind your homes:
-
Cleaning and Clearing of the Ditch/Canal: This will occur behind your homes, from Elvin Dr. to the St. Croix Ave. intersection. This project aims to improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding in our area.
-
Development of the Parkway Lakes Subdivision: This project involves the construction of 151 homes. While this development promises to bring new neighbors and opportunities, it also raises concerns about potential flooding and increased water levels.
These two projects are still in the early stages and require City-Parish approval. The Sagefield Homeowners Association (HOA) has proactively addressed these issues. We have spoken to Metro Councilman Rowdy Gaudet and the developers of the Parkway Lakes Subdivision. We expressed concerns about potential flooding and/or high water situations that could affect homes in the Sagefield Subdivision on Old Hermitage Pkwy and beyond.
The Sagefield HOA is committed to keeping you informed and safe. We are actively monitoring these projects and advocating for measures that will protect our community. We aim to ensure that any development or maintenance work is carried out with the best interests of Sagefield residents in mind.
To all Sagefield residents: Even if you did not receive a notice, please know these projects could impact the entire Sagefield community. Everyone needs to stay informed and engaged.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Sagefield HOA President Larry Galloway at 225-252-5624 or ldgalloway52@gmail.com. We encourage you to stay engaged and reach out with any feedback or issues you may have.
Thank you!
NOTICE:
The City-Parish Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing in Room 348, City Hall, 222 St. Louis Street, 3rd Floor Baton Rouge, La. (Metropolitan Council Chambers) at 5:00 PM.

📣 Sagefield Community Update: Parkway Lakes Subdivision Progress & Flooding Concerns
Dear Sagefield Residents,
We want to inform you that the Parkway Lakes subdivision, located directly adjacent to Sagefield, has begun visible development. Updated photos of the site are included below to keep our community aware of the progress.
While we welcome responsible growth, we must also remain vigilant. Our primary concern is the potential impact on flooding—especially during heavy rain events. As Parkway Lakes continues construction, changes to elevation, drainage flow, and water retention could affect Sagefield’s flood resilience.
We are actively monitoring the situation and will:
-
Share visual updates as development continues
-
Review drainage plans and elevation changes
-
Communicate with local officials and developers
-
Advocate for protective measures that safeguard Sagefield homes and families
